New Year resolutions to make India a better place to live

2018 is not just a new year, but an opportunity for new beginnings, new ventures and new goals. With each passing year, The Ponty Chadha Foundation grows in its vision and dreams, and 2018 is no exception to this. It’s time for us to build greater bridges, and take humanity to a whole new level with fresh resolutions to enrich the lives of those around us.

When we speak of India on a global level, it is a country admired for its hospitality and cultural diversity. However, there are a few things that we still need to alter.

At The Ponty Chadha Foundation, we have a list of resolutions for 2018 that can help carve a brighter year ahead.

Resolution # 1

Stop littering. Everywhere you go, people either spit on the roads or throw their waste in public spaces. As a government-run initiative, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan has definitely helped our environment, but we still have a long way to go in developing an inherent interest for clean and green surroundings.

Resolution # 2

More empathy and compassion towards the needy. As Indians, we lay a lot of importance on values and morals, but when it comes to day-to-day human interaction, we lack a great deal. Touching our elders’ feet is great, but do we show the same respect by offering our seat to a senior citizen on the metro?

Resolution # 3

Greater tolerance and respect. Log into Facebook, or scroll down your Twitter feed. The one thing that jumps right out is our lack of tolerance. We get offended by every little thing, and are ready to fight just for the sake of fighting and proving an irrelevant point. Let’s have more respect, and let’s be less petty in 2018.

Resolution # 4

Helping Each Other. This may seem like a simple resolution, but it is the need of the hour! If someone is getting harassed or is stranded in the middle of the road, very few of us stop to help. It’s high time we watched each other’s backs and gave more than we expect to receive.

Resolution # 5

Change the way we look at women. Women empowerment as a term has been done to death. But as a country, and as citizens, do we abide by it and live it each day of our lives? Women are still considered to be the weaker sex, and are not considered equal to men. Let’s change the way we view women. Let’s build a society based on equal rights and equal opportunities.

At the end of the day, it is important to be more human, and less materialistic. We hope that 2018 is a bright and fruitful year for all of you!

5 fun ways to get your kids in action during the summer holidays!

Summer is that time of the year that every kid looks forward to. It’s the perfect time to plan activities that cannot be undertaken with regular school chores. Even for parents, summers are a great opportunity to strengthen the bond with their kids by spending more time with them. Here’s a look at 5 activities that can catapult your kids into action:

Gardening: Gardening is essentially a way of connecting with nature and one of its biggest benefits is that it enhances your child’s immune system. Besides, gardening is fun, both for adults and kids. There are so many gardening projects for kids over the internet that are sure to excite the young ones, like an inexpensive terrarium or a hanging planter with plastic bottles.

Camping: Camping offers kids a joy like nothing else. Take your kids for camping, where you can teach them how to set up a tent, light a bonfire, scout and much more. After exhausting the energy, you can relax in the best possible environment i.e. amidst nature.

Cooking: Another great activity to bring out your kid’s creative side is cooking. Kids love taking a swing at cooking every once in awhile and the joy of doing something with your kids is unparalleled. So go ahead, start with a sandwich and end with a delicious delicacy.

Theatre: Theatre has rapidly gained popularity as an extracurricular activity for kids. Much of its popularity is credited to its benefits, as theatre helps foster a sense of confidence and boosts creativity. There are several institutions that organise special activities for kids in the summers, such as mycity4kids, where you can find a plethora of activities for kids including theatre.

Treasure Hunt: The excitement of finding something unexpected is a sweet feeling. Plan an adventurous treasure hunt and encourage your kids to partake in it. Use the entire house to extend the excitement and fun. Your kids can also invite their friends to partake in the activity to make them even more exciting.

With a plethora of options available to have fun, you should definitely encourage your kids to explore the opportunities. Such activities are great for enhancing the skills of your kids such as communication, teamwork and creativity, to name a few.

Laughter: the best medicine

Ever wondered how the world would be if nobody knew how to laugh?
Imagine out of the blue, one morning waking up to be a person who doesn’t knows what laughter is.
Nobody would crack jokes, nor anyone will laugh on them.
Nobody would know what comedy shows are and sarcasm won’t be fun anymore.
How do you think that life would be?
Creepy, terrifying and moreover, lifeless.

If we analyze the word laugh it sounds a lot similar to life…it not only brings joy to all but it also comes with some serious health benefits.
A powerful antidote to stress, depression, pain, conflict and even heartbreak, laughter is a proven doctor recommended medicine that holds the power to curb any disease.

Talking in medical terms, a good laugh is chocked full of mental, emotional and physical benefits. Making us feel happy and relaxed, a hearty laughter allows us to live longer, be healthier and provides an edge when battling ailments like mental illness.
Also it helps combat stress by increasing blood flow throughout the body and also boosts our immune system, heightens threshold for pain and assists in facilitating better breathing.

Along with our medical health, laughing helps improving our emotional health as well. And researchers have also proven that laughing in company enhances social bonding and stimulates positivity around.

So if you’re feeling blue, just remember to rejuvenate your soul with this fun & priceless medicine. Although you won’t find a free medine elsewhere than a good hearty laugh.

Moreover always keep in mind what the great Charlie Chaplin once said, “A day without laughter is a day wasted.”

Keep Laughing pals!! Happy Laughter Day 😀

No comparisons with Rajnikant please: Salman Khan

Salman Khan

Given Salman Khan’s mass appeal, his co-star of Bodyguard Kareena Kapoor and many others in B-Town believe that Salman is the only phenomenon in Bollywood who matches the charisma of Rajnikant whose mass appeal surpasses all logic.

“He’s a natural born actor. Whatever he does becomes a craze. To me, he’s the Rajnikant of Bollywood,” said Kareena recently. And many others echo these sentiments. But our brawny superstar doesn’t want any comparisons with Rajnikant perhaps because of the fear of getting slotted. “Main jahan hoon wahan theek hoon. Unki apni jagah hai aur meri apni,” (Rajnikant has his own place and I have mine.

I am happy in my space) said Salman at the trailor launch of his upcoming Bodyguard. And he didn’t sound modest this time. Is it because drawing comparisons with the Southern super star may not do much for him since his success rate currently is very high. Then in a recently conducted contest on style quotient, reports are that it was the cool dude Salman Khan who won hands down with an astounding vote of 76percent, whereas Shahrukh Khan who had been voted second managed to get 16 percent of the votes. But, surprisingly, Rajnikant, just about got 10 percent of the votes. Guess Salman has now learnt to be shrewd.

Salman had earlier tweeted in praise of Ajay’s chiselled body, saying, “Baap re baap. Superb Ajay’s body is looking. Too good.”

The ‘Golmaal’ star had to hit the gym regularly to join the league of six pack abs alongside Shah Rukh Khan and Emraan Hashmi.

“I don’t follow any trend. It was the necessity of the script, so I decided to get it. I have hit the gym regularly for three hours and followed a controlled diet,” said Devgn, who was in the national capital today to promote ‘Singham‘.

Devgn will be seen as a Marathi cop doing some breathtaking action sequences in the film which has been directed by Rohit Shetty.

Salman Khan to star in five sequels

Actor Salman Khan is fast becoming the Hindi version of Rajnikanth. Like superstar Rajni, Salman has done it all. He has had reincarnations, fought fifty bad guys at once and has managed to tear his shirt apart…without even touching it! No wonders then that he has acted in the maximum number of South remakes.
However, the superstar is eyeing another achievement of sorts. Salman is all set to star in not less than five sequels of his films. While the sequels of some of his recent hits like ‘Dabanng’ and ‘Wanted’ are already in the news, sources tell us that sequels to ‘No Entry’, ‘Partner’ and ‘Tere Naam’ are also being planned’.
Trade analysts are already going gaga over this sequel mania. It is being speculated that with Salman Khan as the lead actor, every sequel is destined to be a superhit.

Animated Andaz Apna Apna will not have Aamir and Salman

At last the wheels of production will start rolling, with the stereoscopic animated version of Raj Kumar Santoshi’s enormous chartbuster, Andaz Apna Apna being made this year. The central characters, Amar and Prem enacted by Aamir and Salman Khan, however will differ in the stereoscopic animated version. iRock, the company which will be producing the film, have been advised not to use the actor’s faces in the animated version to avoid any legal hassles in using the superstars faces in their film.

Sid Jain, CEO – iRock says, “There are limitations to what I can do because they are such big stars. With the licensing, merchandising and other factors, it would invite legal trouble. We basically wanted unique identity for the characters, if you look at Woody from Toy Story, he does not look like Tom Hanks.”

The humorous animated version is being made in stereoscopic 3D which is currently in its production phase. Speaking about the style and the theme of the animated version, Sid says, “There is a certain exaggerated style that is there in all the characters. The animation would be more to the likes of The Simpsons or Bevis And Butthead style.”

The animated version of Andaz Apna Apna is slated to release in the summer of 2012.

By Bollywood Hungama News Network, June 23, 2011 – 14:41 IST

Chillar PartySalman Khan seems to be following the footsteps of his dear friend Aamir Khan. Recently, Aamir shot a special promo for Delhi Belly a film which he is producing. Now Salman too has gone ahead and shot exclusive promos for his first home production Chillar Party.

Even though Sallu doesn’t feature in the film, he felt that featuring in a promo with the kids will only help in creating the right buzz for the film. The promo has Salman engaging in a humorous dialogue with the kids in a witty manner.

The actor has also given his most famous trade mark shot in which he removes his shirt much to the excitement of his fans. What’s more, the ‘chillar party’ kids who shot with him have also chosen to abandon their shirts just like their favourite Sallu bhai. In the promo, the kids show off their bodies along with Salman Khan while he smiles away.

The promos are interestingly shot and are said to be extremely funny especially when Salman Khan gets into dialogues with all the kids individually from Encyclopaedia to Jhangiya, Akram, Secondhand, Panauti, Silencer, Aflatoon, Shaolin and Fatka.

These kids address Salman with witty come backs and leave him all surprised.

Chillar Party releases on 8th July, 2011 and Salman proudly claims that the movie is super fun ride and the audiences will fall in love with the kids.
